Interdisciplinary Data Competence Center for Saxony

As a national data competence center (DKZ), Come2Data aims to impart practical data skills—primarily for research and teaching, but also for public administration, the general public, and, in the future, the business sector. Our initial focus is on Saxony as a hub for science and research.

Targeted support for data-driven research

Our goal is to offer a multi-tiered support system for solving data problems, to strengthen in-house expertise in FDM, and to create a network that brings researchers together with one another and with data experts. We support data-driven research and teach skills for competent data handling. We do this, among other things, through pilot projects in which we work with researchers to identify and analyze specific data problems and derive practical solutions and necessary data skills from them. We use the insights gained to further develop our support services and make them accessible to other researchers as well.

Bringing together expertise and services related to data

Come2Data brings together existing Saxon and national initiatives in the fields of data integration, data management, data analysis, and data publication to create a sustainable training and support program. The portfolio is complemented by services developed in-house. In doing so, Come2Data establishes a central virtual platform: an open space for research, support, networking, and learning for all interested parties.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration to Promote Data Literacy

Come2Data is being developed by four academic institutions in Saxony: Dresden University of Technology (project management and coordination), Chemnitz University of Technology, the Saxon State and University Library (SLUB) in Dresden, and Leipzig University.
